Bio oil list of ingredients

A specialist skincare oil, bio oil was originally developed by scientist Dieter Beier in 1987. Since its global launch in 2002, bio oil has won more than 75 skincare awards to become a very sought after oil used for reducing stretch marks, scars and uneven skin tone in more than 10 countries.

This oil is a combination of various ingredients including natural oils like lavender, sunflower, chamomile, soy, rosemary and Purcell oil with a mixture of vitamins and plant extracts. As the formula is oxygen free, its vitamin and plant extract potency is retained to maximize the benefits and effects of using the oil.

• PurCellin oil is the main ingredient here, and is a laboratory processed unique reproduction of green gland oil found in ducks. In ducks, PurCellin oil helps ducks protect their feathers from absorbing water while swimming.

In bio oil, it helps improve the consistency of its other ingredients to create a non-greasy and light formula. This in turn helps and promotes the absorption of plant extracts and vitamins into the skin.

• Calendula oil is known for its antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It also has soft and soothing qualities which is relaxing when massaged into the skin. Moreover, it helps in the formulation of new blood vessels, which in turn is important for healing scars and scratches.

• Lavender oil is also used for its antiseptic and antifungal properties. It helps to rapidly form scar tissues when massaged into the skin, and when combined with chamomile, helps treat eczema.

• Chamomile is a soothing, cleansing and calming natural extract, which creates great effects on scars and stretch marks. It helps improve the strength of skin tissue and elasticity when massaged into the skin, and also helps smoothen out scars, hydrate the skin and wears out veins.

• Rosemary oil has a beautiful aroma which gives bio oil its pleasant smell. It helps remove the dryness of scars and stretch marks and is great for toning skin.

• Soy oil has lots of fatty acids, which is why and how it helps restore and maintain the skin’s balance and health. It also has specific antioxidants which help restore the skin’s natural beauty and radiance. Soy oil also helps restore an even skin tone and fixes uneven skin.

So looking at all these natural extracts of bio oil, it’s no wonder that clinical studies have proven that the oil exhibits only very rare cases of side effects when used.
